Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite!

UPDATE: A gameplay trailer has dropped for Venom, Winter Soldier, and Black Widow and as expected Venom is awesome, Winter Soldier is okay, and Black Widow is a huge disappointment.

In Maximillian Dood's latest video he talks about some leaks and rumors pertaining to MvC∞'s Season 2 DLC and possible new modes.  Supposedly, yet not fully confirmed, Season 2 will have Star-Lord, Kamala Kahn (because Marvel thinks we actually give a damn about her), Asura (Asura's Wrath), Gill (Street Fighter III), and Lady (Devil May Cry).  There is also supposed to be a sixth character in this DLC, but some leaks are saying it will be Rashid (Street Fighter V), others say it's Regina (Dino Crisis), and some are even saying it might be Apollo Justice (Ace Attorney).  Unlike the five mentioned above, there is no collective agreement on this sixth character.

Characters aren't the only things that will be DLC.  The first wave of DLC costumes have been revealed and will include, but not limited to: Carol Danvers' original Ms. Marvel costume, Ultimate Thor, Joe Fixit, Mr. X for Nemesis, Morrigan's clubbing outfit, and Donte (because Capcom has this unhealthy need to keep bringing that edgy emo back).

Sigma and Black Panther's gameplay trailer was released a coupe of days ago.  Not only did it show off their play style, but it was revealed that they (along with Monster Hunter) will be released on October 17.

And adding on to the previous Funko Pop! announcement, one more MvC∞ 2-pack will be coming out.  Joining the other four pairs will be Black Panther & Monster Hunter with a color variant of these figures being exclusive at Best Buy.  So in total there are now ten Pop! figures based on MvC∞.

Looks like a part of the DLC leak was wrong.  With the game now out, all of the DLC characters have been revealed.  We are still getting Sigma, Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Monster Hunter, and Venom, but instead of Gill we are getting...Black Widow.  Because apparently we just had to have Black Widow of all characters!

A recent leak has come out that reveals the six characters of the first set of DLC for MvC∞.  Aside from the already confirmed Sigma and Black Panther we are supposedly also going to get a female Monster Hunter, Winter Soldier, Venom (the only returning character of the set), and Gill from Street Fighter III.

Also, while not about the game itself, Funko has revealed new Funko Pop! figures based on MvC∞.  There are eight figures in all that come in four two-figure packs.  Some of these figures also show off what I believe to be alternate costumes the characters can wear in the game.  The packs are Captain Marvel & Chun-Li, Rocket Raccoon & Mega Man X, Gamora & Strider Hiryu, and Ultron & Sigma.  Each set also has exclusive color variants that can be found at Hot Topic, Gamestop, FYE, and Toys R Us respectively.

The final base roster has been revealed.  As fans feared, the base roster will contain only 30 characters and most of the characters are returning from Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.  For those who don't know, the base roster is as follows (new characters in bold):

Capcom - Arthur, Chris Redfield, Chun-Li, Dante, Firebrand, Frank West, Jedah Dohma, Mega Man X, Mike Haggar, Morrigan Aensland, Nemesis, Nathan Spencer, Ryu, Strider Hiryu, and Zero.

Marvel - Captain America, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Dormammu, Gamora, Ghost Rider, Hawkeye, Hulk, Iron Man, Nova, Rocket Raccoon, Spider-Man, Thanos, Thor, and Ultron.

Along with the base roster we are still getting DLC characters, all of which will be new to the series.  So far only Sigma and Black Panther have been revealed, but it's highly speculated that a female Monster Hunter will also be DLC.

In terms of game modes, aside from the new Story Mode we will also see the return of Arcade Mode and Mission Mode.  We will also be getting something called Dr. Light's Database, which will show off various artworks and cutscenes that can be unlocked.

More characters have been revealed in a new trailer for MvC∞, unfortunately they're all returning characters.  Marvel's Spider-Man is back in the fight, as well as Capcom's Frank West, Mike Haggar, and Nemesis.  This new trailer also shows off both Gamora and Thanos proper as well as confirms that M.O.D.O.K. will not be returning as a playable character but as a background character for a new stage.

A brand new story trailer has been revealed at Sony's E3 press conference, revealing multiple characters added to the roster.  On the Marvel side we have returning characters Doctor Strange, Nova, and Thanos, while Gamora and Black Panther make their debut with the latter being DLC.  Capcom's side unfortunately doesn't show us any newcomers, but it does have Arthur, Dante, Nathan Spencer, and Zero as returning characters.

While no new characters have been revealed yet, Marvel does hint at characters that might be on the roster thanks to their upcoming variant covers that are based on MvC∞.  Potential characters include Spider-Man, Star Lord, Black Panther, Daredevil, Deadpool, Dr. Strange, Iron Fist, Venom, and Thanos.

Rocket's best friend Groot is confirmed to be in MvC∞, but it is unknown if he'll be part of Rocket's Super Move or if he'll be playable alongside Rocket in the same sense as Ferra and Torr from Mortal Kombat X.  Only time will tell.

Along with the new story trailer, multiple characters have been confirmed to be in the game.  On Marvel's side we got Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, Rocket Raccoon, and Ultron, while on Capcom's side we got Strider Hiryu, Chun-Li, Chris Redfield, and Sigma (who will be the first of six DLC characters).

Not only that, but we finally have a release date!  September 17, 2017

Both Captain America and Morrigan have been confirmed to be returning to the roster.  We also now know that the Infinity Stones will be replacing the X-Factor from MvC3 as well as X using his armor from Mega Man X as one of his special moves.  Another thing shown off in the gameplay trailer is that the returning characters will be reusing their movesets from MvC3.  Stay tuned for more!

We've got Ryu and Iron Man returning as well as X and Captain Marvel as Newcomers.  Mega Man is finally getting some proper representation here, probably because Niitsuma knew that fans would lynch him if he didn't put in a Mega Man.
